SANTA FE —When a New Mexico State Police officer on patrol in Santa Fe County near milepost 286 on I-25 saw a green GMC pickup truck going south at over 90 miles an hour about 5 pm on March 22, he didn’t know it yet, but he was on the trail of two men wanted by a nearby state.

Johnny Warren said an argument started when he was riding his motorcycle with his daughter and noticed Rudy Lopez on his property. At 11:27 am he told McKinley County Sheriff’s Sergeant Garylle James that he didn’t know Lopez. Warren said he approached Lopez to find out why he was there, and Lopez became combative and threatening, stating “This is my hood.” The two were approached by James at 703 Portal, in Gamerco. They were yelling at each other. Warren waved at the deputy for assistance and Lopez began walking away. While patrolling westbound on State Highway 118, New Mexico State Police Officer Alejando Solis-Torres spotted a passenger car traveling east at 64 mph near the 18-mile marker. He turned around and followed the vehicle, pulling it over and conducting a traffic stop near Marguerite Street and Highway 118.

Solis-Torres met with the driver, Stevens Concepion-Molina, 28, of Gallup. While he spoke with him, Solis-Torres observed he had slurred speech and smelled of alcohol. There was also an open container in the cup holder.

MISSING DOGHOUSE, FLOWER POTS

Tse Bonito, March 15

When a woman who had been renting a property discovered more than $5,000 worth of items missing after the tenants were kicked out, she reported the loss.

McKinley County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Frank Villa Jr. was dispatched to #46 Garden Lane on March 15 where he met the woman from Tse Bonito.

The woman told Villa she had been renting the property to Nicholas Silversmith and his father Alfred. When Villa asked when she had last seen the stolen items in the yard, she placed the time at approximately 11 am on March 2.

She told the deputy she had kicked the two men out and was no longer renting to them.
