The Gallup Police are asking for the public's help in finding Eric Quandelacey.

Eric was last seen leaving Zuni on the morning of Oct. 15. Eric left his grandmother's house and told her he was going to get a haircut in Gallup. He has not been heard from since. He allegedly had been having some relationship problems and was upset over his father's recent death.

Eric Quandelacey is 27 years old. He is 6 feet tall, and weighs about 200 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair.

Missing-Endangered adult advisory

The Gallup Police Department is asking for assistance from the public in locating Lavaya Robles, 22.


She was last seen at the Shop N Save, 1120 E. Hwy. 66, approximately on around Oct. 14. Her family has not been able to get ahold of her.  Her clothing description and method of travel is not known.

MCSO needs help identifying human remains

In an email sent to the Sun on Oct. 13, the McKinley County Sheriff's Office provided an update about where they are in their attempts to identify the human remains that were discovered on Nov. 17, 2021.

Very few bones were recovered, but what MCSO reported was that the remains are from a man who was either Native American, Hispanic, or Asian. The man is believed to have been anywhere from 5' 2" to 6'.

The unidentified man had major head surgery to the right side of the head and was left with surgical steel on the skull.   According to the Office of the Medical Investigator, the wound was about six weeks into the healing stage.

Three men reportedly caught with fentanyl at hotel

Three men were caught with fentanyl at America’s Best Inn.

On Sept. 29, around 4:30 am, an employee from America’s Best Value Inn, 2003 U.S. Hwy. 66, called Metro Dispatch and said three men were hanging out in a room that was supposed to be vacant. Officers Warren Bowannie and Gilbert Gonzales arrived at the hotel and met three individuals in Room 115: Mark Bingaman, Rudy Cruz, and a man the police could only identify as “John Doe.”

The officers found knives, tools, hammers, and steroids that were in vials spread out on the bed. Cruz, 56, told the officers that the items had been in the room when they got there, and that none of the things belonged to any of them. He said...
