State Police arrest woman for stealing postal truck

COLFAX COUNTY – On Jan. 9, at about 8 am, New Mexico State Police began pursuit of a stolen U.S. Postal Service vehicle that went missing in the vicinity of Maxwell. The truck was spotted traveling south on I-25 near mile post 429, when it turned around and headed north.

BUSTED

12/26, Gallup

The Gallup Police Department is investigating a report of a car burglary at 1516 E. Hwy 66 in which a Gamerco woman reported a stolen purse.

The victim said she was at work at about 11 pm Dec. 26, when she noticed her car had been broken into. She said she had been to the car about an hour before and, at that time, it was all right.

The victim said her purse had been on the passenger seat and contained her driver’s license and some paperwork.

Police checked out the vehicle and found one of the windows had been busted and there was glass covering the front seats. The weapon used to break the window was not found.

McKinley County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Lorenzo Guerrero said he was dispatched to State Road 122 in connection with a report of a drunk driver.

When he arrived at the scene, he met with another deputy, Jonathan Todachine, and saw a red Ford truck.

Todachine said he first saw the vehicle parked on the side of County Road 61. When he approached the vehicle, he noticed the driver, later identified as Wilson, 32, of Thoreau, passed out behind the wheel.

He said he tried several times to wake her up without any success. Finally, she woke up, looked up at him and proceeded to drive away. He said he followed...

BLUEWATER VILLAGE, N.M.  - On Dec. 6, the New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau was contacted to investigate a police shooting involving the Cibola County Sheriff’s Office. State Police agents learned that around 11:30 am, the Cibola County Sheriff’s Office was attempting to serve an arrest warrant on John Guerin,76, of Blue Water Village at #18 Mary Ann Dr., in Cibola County.



As deputies approached the front door of the residence, at least one gunshot was fired from inside the residence towards the location of deputies. At this point Deputies Kimery Ward, Anthony Kemp, and Alan Roane discharged their duty firearms towards the front...

Three CASES LIKELY RELATED

What at first seemed to be three separate attacks at three different locations on Gallup’s north side – Alon gas station, Wendy’s and Car Quest — now appear to be connected.

Gallup Police Department Captain Marinda Spencer said there were reports of a man seen carrying a machete.

The victim from the Wendy’s north attack did not recall what happened due to his intoxicated state, Spencer stated in a Dec. 19 release. Detectives are still looking into his attack for further information.
