SANTA FE — Gov. Michelle Lujan-Grisham and members of her cabinet updated the public on the state’s efforts to combat COVID-19 within our state along with an announcement to allow breweries to reopen with outdoor and patio seating.

The governor’s June 11 news conference updated COVID-19 numbers for New Mexico.


There are 9,367 total cases in New Mexico with 121 new cases. One-hundred-eighty-nine individuals are hospitalized with 60 of them on ventilators.

In New Mexico, 420 people have lost their lives to COVID-19, including 10 new deaths announced June 11.

Pantry gives away 784, 25-pound boxes of fresh produce in two hours the same day

During the Community Pantry & Hope Garden’s morning food distribution May 27, the Gallup Elks Lodge # 1440 gave something back: a check for $4K.

“If it wasn’t for organizations such as the Elks Lodge, we would not be able to do the extra stuff that we have to do,” Alice Perez, Community Pantry executive director, said. She says the COVID-19 pandemic has hit the pantry hard.

The summer season brings a number of fireworks vendors to Gallup. Even with the COVID-19 pandemic, people are demonstrating the desire to leave their homes to enjoy the warm weather.

But across the region, drought is a concern especially during the summer. While fireworks can bring fun to local events and gatherings, they can also be a fire danger if the nearby vegetation is too dry.
