UPDATE: As of 6:45 pm on Dec. 4, Interstate 40 has been reopened.
A multiple-vehicle crash has led to the closure of westbound Interstate 40 from mile marker 72 to mile marker 63. This update was posted on nmroads.com around 1:45 pm on Jan. 4.
All westbound traffic will be diverted unto New Mexico Highway 122 at exit 72, which is the Bluewater Village Interchange, and back onto I-40 at exit 63, which is the Prewitt Interchange.
Avoid traveling or use extreme caution if you do go out. Watch out for moving snow or stopped traffic. Stay safe out there!
