UNM-G Welding Instructor Recognized
Joe Sanchez, Welding Instructor at UNM-Gallup, was recently honored by the American Welding Society New Mexico Section 75 with the Howard E. Adkins memorial Instructor Membership Award. Artist/Collector Sandoval’s house of treasures
From the outside, the modest house on the north side of Gallup is unremarkable, but inside are works of love collected over the years by Lester Sandoval. One of his larger possessions was featured in a recent article in the Gallup Sun three weeks ago; the customized 1993 4-WD GMC1500, a work of art that is the centerpiece of the regular Sunday afternoon car show at Camille’s Sidewalk Cafe.

This is no parody, but it is a love letter to the Dr. No era of espionage thrillers; it keeps the Cold War setting and production design, all the while holding its tongue firmly in cheek.
Thanks to some inspired casting and stylish visuals, director Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes, Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows) manages to pull it all off. It’s a fun throwback that will keep most viewers amused and entertained.
