Nov. 5 marks Election Day. Throughout the day, people will head to the polls to cast their vote for everyone from local city and county positions all the way up to federal positions including senators and the next U.S. President.

You can check your local chapter house for local and tribal elections. The following locations are open in Gallup and the surrounding communities as Voter Convenience Centers. All voters in the county may vote at these locations, regardless of where they live.

All locations are open from 7 am to 7 pm on Nov. 5 unless otherwise noted.

Observe New Mexico Elections announces findings of early voting

ALBUQUERQUE — Observe New Mexico Elections, a nonpartisan observation effort designed to increase trust and transparency in elections, announced their findings of the 2024 general election during the early voting timeframe on Nov. 4. ONME trained and accredited more than 50 observers who visited 82 unique voting locations in 24 counties across New Mexico during the early voting window of Oct. 8-Nov. 2.

ONME observed early voting election processes in Bernalillo, Catron, Cibola, Curry, De Baca, Doña Ana, Eddy, Grant, Hidalgo, Lea, Los Alamos, Luna, McKinley, Mora, Otero, Rio Arriba, Roosevelt, San Juan, Sandoval, Santa Fe, Sierra, Socorro, Taos, and Union counties.

Nygren endorses Harris-Walz for President, V.P.

WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. — Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov.Tim Walz for President and Vice President of the U.S. on Nov. 4.

“Under Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, every Native American person will matter equally,” Nygren said. “Together as one nation, President Kamala Harris and Vice-President Walz will be thinking for the future of the Navajo Nation.”

Nygren cited Vice President Harris’ work with President Joe Biden to promote tribal communities through ARPA, infrastructure support, water development, health care and public safety.
