Glenda L. Mirabal 68, of Gallup died Nov. 2, 2020.

For over 20 years she worked at the Gallup Independent and was most recently employed by Amigo Chevrolet. She loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her three grandkids. She enjoyed cooking, dancing and doing her nails.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Patricio and Jessie Jaramillo of Grants, N.M.

Martha Zollinger, who for the past half century has been one of the best ambassadors Gallup has ever seen, passed away of natural causes just a few days before her 98th birthday.

After spending most of her early life in Ohio and Louisiana, she moved to Gallup in 1964 with her husband, John, and three children Jack Bob and Mary Ann. Her husband had just purchased the town’s newspaper, the Gallup Independent.

From the moment she came to town, she began making friends with her cheerful attitude and a desire to make the city a better place for all who lived here. She did this by becoming a lifelong volunteer.

Steven Gregory Yoder, age 38, passed away on August 9, 2020 in Turlock, Calif. Yoder was born in Gallup on June 21, 1982 and attended local schools, graduating from high school in Rehoboth and then attending the University of New Mexico-Gallup and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N. C.

Yoder worked at Houston Lumber and taught construction tech at Miyamura High School. He was also a youth pastor at East Aztec Baptist Church and Grace Bible Church. He received an “Exemplary Teacher” award from Gallup-McKinley County Schools and was recognized by Skills USA with many students that were state and national champions.

Helen A. Bagh, age 77, passed away at her home in New Mexico on July 14, 2020 but her heart was always in Pahrump, Nevada where she lived for many years. She loved to make people laugh; she loved to dance and always filled the room with her smile. She was feisty, quick witted, and loved to share her adventurous life stories, which were sure to bring a smile and a laugh. Although her income was modest, her generosity and sincere concern for others was without limit.
