WINDOW ROCK, ARIZ. — Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez and Vice President Myron Lizer issued a proclamation on Oct. 19 calling for all flags on the Navajo Nation to be flown at half-staff on Oct. 21 in honor and remembrance of Vietnam War veteran Andrew Kelly, Jr., of Tuba City, Ariz., who passed away on Oct.17 at the age of 72.

 

Kelly is Honágháahnii (One-Walks-Around clan) and born for Tsé deeshgizhnii (Rock Gap People). His maternal grandfather is Naakai dine’é (The Mexican Clan) and his paternal grandfather is Tł 'ízí lání (Manygoats Clan).

Pauline Joe, of Twin Lakes, N.M.,  died on Aug. 12. She was 78. Pauline was born into the nakidine, born for Todichiinii. She was born in Gallup on Dec. 17, 1943.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband David Joe, and her sons Alfred John and Olin Joe.

She is survived by her daughter; Rosandra Chavez and her sons Curtis John and Hyland Joe.

Funeral services  will be held at Cope Memorial Chapel on Aug. 19 at 10 am

Allison Lee of Mexican Springs, N.M., died June 19. He was 64. Allison was born into the Bitahnii, born for Tse Najinii. He was born in Gallup on April 26, 1958.

Allison was preceded in death by Rena Mae Lee (his mother) and Chee Lee (his father).

He is survived by his children: Alvina Earnhart (husband, Benjamin Earnhart), Ferguson Lee (wife, Milvia Valladares), Wyatt Lee-Anderson, Kyle Lee- Anderson and Trent Lee- Anderson.

Funeral Services will be held at Rollie Mortuary on June 25, at 10:00 am. Memorials can be sent to: Rollie Mortuary.
