Sophia Endischee, 43, Window Rock, Ariz.

Endischee was booked into McKinley County Adult Detention Center June 2 after she struck another vehicle and left the area. The victim of the hit and run followed Endischee to a residence on Belle Drive and called police. Gallup Police Department Officer DeWayne Holder charged Endischee for DWI, immediate notice of an accident and open container in a motor vehicle.

EAST SIDE BUSINESS DISTRICT

Three individuals were arrested for robbery after they took a bag from a male while all four were walking from the Gallup Detox facility June 3. According to the police report, filed by GPD Officer Andrea Tsosie, 67-year-old Tommy Youngbear called police after his Wells Fargo bank bag was taken from him.

Youngbear asked Tsosie to take him to the bank so that he could cancel his bank card. On the way, Tsosie and Youngbear spotted the individuals who took Youngbear’s items, and they were found in possession on most of Youngbear’s belongings.

Lyle Alexius, 27, Gallup, N.M.

Alexius was charged with his second DWI on May 22 after being called in as a reckless driver and then being struck by a train at the County Road 1 crossing. Even after being hit by a train, Alexius remained in the driver’s seat “trying to mess with the keys while [they were] in the ignition.”

Neither Alexius or his passenger sustained any serious injuries. His passenger, 22 year old Jordan Etsitty, was taken to Gallup Detox. Alexius was transported to the hospital for a blood draw and taken to jail. He was also charged with open container and driver’s license required.

West Side Business District

Gallup Police are searching for another robbery suspect. According to the police report, filed on May 27 by Officer Steven Peshlakai, Red Lion Hotel was robbed. The clerk told officers that an African American male walked into the business around 4:30 in the morning and demanded all of the money.

The clerk did not see a weapon, but was admittedly scared and he turned over an undisclosed amount of cash from the business, the man walked out the front entrance and left the area. Capt.
