LAS CRUCES, N.M. — The New Mexico Department of Agriculture issued an advisory following a manufacturer recall of chicken, swine, cattle, and horse feed products on April 12. While the 11 recalled feed products were not found at distributors in New Mexico, some of the products were distributed in the nearby states of Arizona, Colorado, and Texas.

NMDA has issued a recall advisory in order to alert New Mexico livestock owners who may have purchased the recalled feed products.

NMDA encourages both livestock producers and owners to keep all feed products in the original packaging in order to quickly and easily reference lot numbers, which are used to track products throughout the manufacturing process and can identify recalled products.

The following products have been recalled ADM Animal Nutrition, Inc. and may have been purchased for use in New Mexico. These products may contain dangerous levels of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, sodium, and chloride:

  • Seniorglo horse feed in 50-pound bags displaying lot number 505426QN. This product was distributed between Jan. 24 and Feb. 1 and may cause weight loss, weakness and listlessness.
  • MoorMan's ShowTec Sale Burst swine feed with DF DEN in 50-pound bags, displaying lot number 506664QN. This product was distributed between Feb. 16 and March 1 and may cause reduced feed intake, increased thirst, and diarrhea.
  • MoorMan's ShowTec Burst Starter swine feed with DF CTC/DEN in 50-pound bags, displaying lot number 506640QN. This product was distributed between Feb. 16 and March 1.
  • Moorman's ShowTec BB 18 BMD swine feed in 50-pound bags, displaying lot number 506939QN. This product was distributed between Feb. 16 and March 1.
