SANTA FE — Gov. Susana Martinez proclaimed November 9, 2017 as “Congratulations to 2017 World Series Champions Alex Bregman and Ken Giles Day” throughout New Mexico. Alex Bregman and Ken Giles, both of Albuquerque, made significant contributions to the Houston Astros’ 2017 World Series championship-winning season.

WHEREAS, THE AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPION HOUSTON ASTROS DEFEATED THE NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPION LOS ANGELES DODGERS IN THE 2017 WORLD SERIES; AND

Over the years, it has been adapted for film and TV on numerous occasions. The latest attempt is certainly a lavish and pretty one. However, the movie suffers from being overly faithful to the occasionally creaky, train-based source material. Indian Hills Elementary teacher honored as Camille’s Teacher of the Month

Camille’s Sidewalk Café announced Stephani Fabela, fourth grade teacher of Indian Hills Elementary, as Teacher of the Month for October

“I’m very surprised. I’m really shocked, it’s an honor,” she said. “It’s really nice to hear that, it’s really awesome!”

Born and raised in Gallup, Fabela has been teaching for a total of 17 years to which 11 of it has been at Indian Hills. She started out as a third-grade teacher, now she teaches fourth grade and she loves her job.
