A 21-year-old man is a person of interest in a May 5 homicide.

The Gallup Police Department is looking for Tyrell Teller. He is five-feet-eight inches tall, weighs 140 pounds and has tattoos on his left forearm.

The Police Department advises that he may be armed and dangerous, so it is best not to approach him.

Gallup, May 8

A state police officer pulled over a man from Tempe, Ariz. after she saw him racing with another car down a Gallup highway.

On May 8 around 1:51 am New Mexico State Police Officer Rachel Hall saw a black Ford Mustang with Arizona plates racing a white car on State Road 118 in Gallup going eastbound near Mile-Marker 22.

According to the court report, the Mustang was going 78 mph in a 25 mph zone.

When Hall pulled the car over she met the driver Jason Allen McCabe, 42, of Tempe, Ariz. She could smell alcohol and noticed he had bloodshot watery eyes and slurred speech. When she asked him to get out...

A man asleep at the wheel of a silver Dodge Charger awoke to find himself near the 15-mile marker of Highway 118 with McKinley County Sheriff’s Deputy Paul Davis Jr. at his side.

Davis was dispatched to the area around 2:38 am on Oct. 10, 2020. He found the car in the middle of the road with its engine on, lights off and the man who was later identified as Reynaldo Bowman, 37, no address listed, passed out at the wheel.

Davis tried waking Bowman and saw several open alcoholic drinks in the center console.  The vehicle moved forward shortly before it stopped and the driver stepped out. Davis said Bowman swayed and fell...

Gallup Police looking for Frank Jones

Gallup Police are looking for a missing person. Frank Howard Jones was last seen on May 12 around 4:30 pm after being dropped off by family members at O'Reilly's on the east side of Gallup.

Jones' family members have not heard from him since.

Frank Jones has a medical condition. He is 61 years old, five-feet-eight inches and weighs 225 pounds. He has tattoos on both forearms and on the right side of his neck. He wears glasses, which are brown, and was last seen wearing a beige shirt, gray Dickie pants and brown shoes. He was described as having a faded haircut.

VISITOR IN THE NIGHT

Prewitt, April 28

After a woman unexpectedly showed up at his house at midnight one night, a Prewitt man was left with a shattered car window.

On April 28 at 12:14 am McKinley County Sheriff’s Deputy Galvin Panteah was dispatched to 3 Elyse Drive in Prewitt because a man had called in saying his car’s window had been shattered.

When he arrived at the house Panteah met with the victim who explained that a woman named Relda Martinez showed up at his house unexpectedly at midnight and punched him. After she punched him, the man said Martinez left, but eventually came back.
